September: a month filled with connection, expression, learning and collaboration.

September kept us moving , across the city, within our community and through new opportunities to meet, learn and create together.

From connecting with people and organizations across Thessaloniki to exploring theatrical expression and learning essential first aid skills, we continued to nurture spaces where participation, reciprocity and exchange can take shape.

Crossroads at Take Back the City #13

On 3 September, Crossroads took part in Take Back the City #13 by Astylab, hosted at Law to Impact in Thessaloniki — an initiative bringing together people and groups engaged with issues affecting the city.

We presented our community, our work and what we have learned through developing new partnerships and networks across Thessaloniki. We were joined by Penny Seferiadou from Housing Thessaloniki and Mike G. from Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Thessaloniki, who brought different perspectives to a meaningful conversation about the city.

The evening became a crossroads of people, ideas and experiences. Different paths came together, new relationships were formed and possibilities for future collaboration began to emerge.

For us, this is also what real impact looks like: creating and taking part in spaces where people exchange ideas, connect and find ways to move forward together.

A big thank you to Astylab for the invitation, Law to Impact for the warm welcome, and everyone who joined us and contributed to the conversation.

Because every crossroads can be the beginning of a new journey.

Play, Explore & Express

What happens when we step outside our comfort zone for a while

and allow ourselves to play, move and express ourselves freely?

During a theatre workshop on 12 September, led by Julia Lorek, actress and member of the Crossroads Community, we came closer through movement, play, emotions and spontaneity.

We spent an afternoon filled with theatrical expression, laughter and creativity, met new people and discovered freer sides of ourselves.

A big thank you to Julia for sharing her time and talent with Crossroads and for creating a safe space for everyone, as well as to "NAOMI Workshop Thessaloniki" for generously hosting us and providing the venue!

Knowledge that can make a difference

How prepared would we be if someone next to us suddenly needed our help?

Οn September 25, we held the Crossroads Community First Aid Training, gaining essential knowledge and practical skills that can prove invaluable in a critical moment.

We learned how to respond to situations such as choking, fainting and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but above all, how to remain calm and take action when someone nearby needs immediate assistance.

The training was delivered by Daniela Damianidou, Certified First Aid Trainer, Midwife and member of the Crossroads Community.

We are deeply grateful to Daniela for her knowledge, energy and enthusiasm, and to InfinityGreece for hosting and supporting the training.

A big thank you also to everyone who joined us and helped turn this training into a meaningful shared experience.

Every new connection, every piece of knowledge we exchange and every initiative that takes shape among us becomes part of what we are building.

September reminded us that a community grows through the presence, generosity and active participation of its people.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

See you at the next Crossroads! 💚
